The inherent tack of LLDPE & LDPE films are a detriment when used in films where self-adhesion is undesirable. Antiblocking agents function by roughening the surface of film which prevents the film from sticking to itself. The four major antiblocking agents are  - 

• Diatomaceous earth 
• Talc 
• Calcium Carbonate 
• Synthetic silicas

The performance of antiblocking agents depends on the particle size distribution, surface area and particle shape of the inorganic additive. The efficiencies and thus the loading in the end product of the antiblocking agents differ. Sidma Polymers offers various types of antiblocking masterbatch.

Antirodent masterbatch are antirodent additive dispersed in PE. The chemicals are based on microporous polymer filled with odor emitting bitter compounds which are generally disliked by rodents and termites. This dissuades the rodents from biting the polymer. The masterbatch is highly effective at very low loading of 3-4%. The product is RoHS compliant and thus human safe. It is non toxic formula, it does not kill the rodents.

Antifog additives are typically used in agricultural and food packaging films. In agricultural films, the fog can reduce light transmission, resulting in poor yields. Fog in food packaging can affect quality of the packed produce and reduce shelf life appeal of the product. Antifog additive is composed of non-ionic organic compound derived from vegetable source. It diffuses to the surface of the polymer and thus improves the wettability of the film by water. The film converts condensation into droplets and maintains visibility of packaging.

Antistatic Plastic Masterbatch for PE films, both long term and short term antistatic properties. 

Antimicrobial masterbatch provides antimicrobial and antifungal benefits that inhibits bacterial growth. Key characteristics of the product are safe, long lasting and meets JIS Z2801-2000 test. It comes in two types:
(a) Silver based anti-microbial is high in durability and safety, with FDA approval for the application of food packing film, sheet and container
(b) Organic type anti-microbial is economical but highly effective for the application of high hygienic claimed products. The product comes in various polymers: PP, PE, EVA, PS, ABS etc.
